Red Dot Award Honors RUX

Founded in Germany in 1955, the Red Dot Award is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious design distinctions. Thousands of products from across the globe are evaluated annually by a panel of experts, with winners selected for innovation, functionality, quality, and usability. Past winners include iconic products such as the Apple iPhone, Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones, Dyson Ball Vacuum, and Ferrari Daytona SP3.

For RUX, the recognition of the entire system—from how the size of each component allows it to integrate together perfectly, to how it holds up under high-use conditions—is more than just an award. It validates a design philosophy centered on solving problems through thoughtful intention, proving that functional gear storage deserves to go hand-in-hand with world-class design.

At the heart of that philosophy is product designer Tony Richardson, whose inventive approach helped shape the DNA of the RUX system. Richardson focuses on creating products that integrate seamlessly into everyday adventure, whether that means unloading ski gear in a snowy parking lot or quickly organizing a truck at a rain-soaked trailhead.

The brilliance of the RUX system lies in how intuitively it functions. Every attachment point, material choice, and design detail serves a purpose, creating seamless integration across the entire line. The result is a system durable enough for demanding environments while maintaining the clean, refined aesthetic that has become synonymous with the brand.

Winning a Red Dot Award doesn’t happen accidentally. It’s the product of relentless iteration, creative problem-solving, and a belief that great design should make life more enjoyable.
