We recently made the trip down to Flagstaff Arizona for our inaugural Overland Expo appearance. After lengthy travel delays I finally arrived in Flagstaff in a decidedly un-overland rental car, an electric Polestar. Fun to rally on the highway, not much clearance for off-roading (don’t worry Dollar Rental, I didn’t try to test the limits of its overland capabilities).
We partnered up on the booth space with Tourig, a very established van conversion company out of Golden, Colorado, and also a sales agency that reps the RUX products. It was a pleasure to hang with the Tourig crew for the weekend, both at the show and at their rental house, where they were serving up gourmet meals that even included ice cream sundae buffets for dessert. Van life at it’s best!
The show was incredible to take part in. Spread over a huge venue, and with over 400 vendors, there was a lot to take in. I was fortunate to have an electric adventure bike from our friends at Super 73, which made touring the show much easier (and quicker). I had a 70L lashed to the rear rack of the bike, which also made for a great rolling demo vehicle.
It was also amazing to interact with so many people visiting the show. We had a number of RUX customers come by the booth and say hi, and we were able to introduce a lot of new people to the brand and to the product line. It was very interesting to hear about the vehicles that folks were working on or adventuring with, and was exciting to figure out how RUX could integrate with their set-ups.
All in all, it was a great event. We’re already looking forward to the next one we’ll attend later this summer, in Loveland Colorado.
