RUX Rides: Marco Escalante's Jeep Gladiator

Posted by Chris Fleugel on

Marco's Jeep Gladiator is no holds barred build. Kitted out with anything and everything you'd need for a legendary trip in Baja - you don't want to miss out on this one!

Tell us a bit about yourself! Who are you? What do you do? Where do you live? What makes you happiest?

My name is Marco Escalante, I was born in Baja, California, Mexico and have lived in the US for 15 Years. I’m a real estate agent and I run an Instagram page featuring overland (@baja.overland_). I live in Chula Vista, CA and nothing makes me happier then the outdoors! Love the dirt!! Love off roading and love overland!

Jeep Tent

Describe your vehicle: make, model, etc.

I drive a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave fully upgraded for Overland.

Describe your favourite feature of your vehicle.

I think my favorite feature of my Vehicle is that it has everything I need to actually live in it, Roof top tent, kitchen equipment, hot shower and more!

Best location/adventure you've ever had with your vehicle?

I have to Say Baja, amazing scenery, amazing beaches, just beautiful.

Most epic stuck/breakdown/wrong turn?

One time in Laguna Hanson we got stuck in the mud for hours.

Any advice to someone thinking of getting into a custom adventure vehicle?

My advice is do it! If you like off roading and camping take your time and build your vehicle. Anything that fits your needs - Jeep, Toyota, Ford, whatever works for you! My advice also is stay in the midsize vehicles.
