Frequently Asked Questions

There are many variables that will affect ice retention, so this is a difficult question for us to answer. Variables that can affect ice retention include the type of ice or amount used, use of a freezer pack, exposure to direct sunlight, etc.

Because of the large number of variables, as well as the lack of an industry standard for measuring ice retention, claims that place a definite time (5, 10, 14 days) are often based on testing conditions and not real-life situations.

We can say that we’ve tested both the Cooler Cube and the Cooler Bag out in a variety of conditions, with an assortment of different ice/freezing methods, and have been very happy with the results both on short day trips, and overnight excursions.

You can fit four cooler cubes inside the cooler bag and you can then fit the cooler bag into the RUX 70L along with your gear in the other half of the 70L, turning your adventure into a party!

Yes, the Cooler Bags and Cubes are soft and can be squished/ folded and compressed when not in use.

Yes, you can fit two Cooler Bags in a single RUX 70L!

Yes, we use heavy duty RF welded 840D TPU double-side coated nylon fabric, the same material used on our Waterproof Bag and 70L. This material, along with the roll-top closure, creates a water and dust proof seal.

    Good design, useful size

    I love this cooler, and I especially like the fact that you can put smaller cooler cubes inside, this is great to keep some items cold even longer, adding an extra layer of protection. I plan to use different color cube inside the main one to color code items like one color for meat, one color for ice, etc overall awesome addition to the rux system.

    Perfect cooler. I use this for grocery shopping. Store I go to is 30 minutes away. I put a Clarice pack in and it keeps my frozen items cold.
